The , (H.R. 1625) signed into law on March 23, funds the federal government through September 30, 2018. The omnibus package provides increased investments in nursing education and research, as well as approximately $4 billion to address the opioid crisis. Of particular interest to AACN members, the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs received $249 million (a 9% increase from last year), and the National Institute of Nursing Research received $158 million (a 5% increase from last year).
